How it works

A continuous thread, from prescribing to a documented outcome.

Instinct doesn't replace your EHR, your pharmacy, or your staff. It runs alongside them — quietly connecting the steps that today live in different inboxes, fax queues, and phone calls.

  1. Stage 01

    Before the visit

Read the schedule. Prepare the chart.

In an authorized clinic deployment, Instinct can use appointment context to prepare the relevant chart evidence before a visit: diagnoses, medications, recent labs, prior treatments, allergies, and available insurance identifiers.

    • Diagnoses + ICD codes
    • Medication history
    • Labs within recency window
    • Insurance identifiers, when available
  2. Stage 02

    In the exam room

Decide with the policy in view.

When the clinician selects a medication, Instinct compares available chart evidence with the applicable policy criteria. The preflight shows whether prior authorization appears required, likely, unlikely, or unknown; which criteria are supported; what is missing; and any policy-aligned alternatives for clinician review.

    • PA requirement status
    • Criteria already supported
    • Evidence still missing
    • Alternatives for clinician review
  3. Stage 03

    If blocked

One case. One thread. One owner.

If the medication is still blocked, Instinct opens a single tracked case, identifies the remedy, and prepares prior-authorization, correction, or appeal materials for staff review. It assigns tasks, sets deadlines, and alerts the team when anything stalls.

    • Drafted submission packets
    • Assigned owners + deadlines
    • Stall detection + nudges
    • Appeals when criteria shift
  4. Stage 04

    For the patient

Visible progress, all the way to pickup.

The patient sees a plain-language case status based on connected or staff-confirmed events: what happened, why the medication may be delayed, who owns the next step, and whether anything is needed from them. Approval, transfer, fill, and pickup updates appear when those events are available.

    • Case status + last update
    • Plain-language reasons
    • Patient action prompts
    • Pickup confirmation when available
